Lange was originally charged and placed on probation, but violated probation by using drugs, Carter said. A judge ordered Lange to jail, but he applied and was accepted into drug court, which landed him in a residential treatment program.Lange was processed Tuesday morning and will be held in the Essex County Correctional Facility until a judge can re-evaluate him.Part of the reason a judge allowed the residential treatment program was that Lange said he needed to work. In December, he tweeted about using cocaine shortly after leaving rehab.”I’m a bad addict,” Lange tweeted. “I had to see if I could get high. It was awful.”Guys I will tweet about this once. Today in court they drug tested me. For the last decade or more they’d have found both Heroin and Cocaine. With the help of in my eyes a miracle legal medication called Suboxen I tested negative for Heroin. I haven’t used Heroin in 41 days…— Artie Lange (@artiequitter) December 14, 2018Email: torrejon@northjersey.comRead or Share this story: https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2019/05/21/ex-madtv-actor-artie-lange-arrested-violating-drug-court-program/3759394002/
