Indiana Pacers guard banned two years for drug violation

USA TODAYGuard Tyreke Evans, who played for the Indiana Pacers this season, has been “dismissed and disqualified” from the NBA for two years for violating the league’s anti-drug program.Evans, 29, averaged 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game with the Pacers. He averaged 15.7 points per game in his career after being drafted fourth overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2009.The NBA said Evans is eligible to apply for reinstatement to the league in two years. Evans was suspended for one game early in the season for tardiness and missed games later in the season for personal reasons. Pacers guard Tyreke Evans has been banned for a violation of the league’s anti-drug policy. (Photo: Greg M. Marijuana is not a drug of abuse, according to the NBA’s drug policy.The last player suspended under this policy was O.J.
